The federation area of two rivers is called Campuhan/Mixture. It owns the magical energy on the basis of Rwabineda Concept/two different matters on this basic concept hence Goa Gajah Temple or Elephant Cave Temple is intentionally built among two rivers

The word of Goa Gajah is anticipated coming from the word of Lwa Gajah, the name of Buddhist Temple or hermitage for Buddhist monk. The Goa Gajah’s name is written on Negara Kertagama papyrus which is compiled by Mpu Prapanca on 1365 M. Lwa or Lwah/Loh mean the river and it reflect to the meaning that the hermitage is located at Gajah River or in Air Gajah. In the year inscription 944 Saka, it is mentioned with the name of ‘ser ring Air Gajah’ that is meaning the Subak leader in Air Gajah. The word has mentioned that the hermitage of Lwa Gajah is located in Subak Air Gajah. Kintamani Volcano and Lake

Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung, Bali, Indonesia. The south east side of the larger 10×13 km caldera contains a caldera lake. The inner 7.5kilometerwide caldera, which was formed during emplacement of the Bali (or Ubud) ignimbrite, has been dated at about 23,670 and 28,500 years ago.

The southeast wall of the inner caldera lies beneath Lake Batur; Batur cone has been constructed within the inner caldera to a height above the outer caldera rim. The Batur stratovolcano has produced vents over much of the inner caldera, but a NESW fissure system has localized the Batur I, II, and III craters along the summit ridge. Historical eruptions have been characterized by mildtomoderate explosive activity sometimes accompanied by lava emission. Basaltic lava flows from both summit and flank vents have reached the caldera floor and the shores of Lake Batur in historical time. The caldera contains an active, 700metretall stratovolcano rising above the surface of Lake Batur. The first historically documented eruption of Batur was in 1804, and it has been frequently active since then. The substantial lava field from the 1968 eruption is visible today when viewed from Kintamani, a town that stradles the southwest ridge of the greater caldera.

The caldera is populated and includes the four main villages of Kedisan, Songan, Trunyan and Toya Bungkah. The locals largely rely on agriculture for income but tourism has become increasingly popular due to the relatively straightforward trek to the summit of the central crater.

The lake, Danau Batur, is the largest crater lake on the island of Bali and is a good source of fish. On September 20, 2012 UNESCO has made Mount Batur Caldera a part of the Global Geopark Network.

Situated close to the Nusa Dua golf course, the sparkling greenblue water here remains relatively calm with gentle rolling waves. The sand is thick and soft, packed hard so you can play a game of volleyball or go for a leisurely beach run. A string of restaurants make this a popular Sunday brunch spot, especially with the local expats and their young ones. There are touts hawking their wares but they’re relatively tame compared to other beaches and deck chairs can be rented from about 20,000 rupiah (US$2) a day. Go at the right time of the day and you’ll see seaweed farmers working between the area from Geger Cafe to Geger Temple. Another big plus? • ULUWATU TEMPLE

51038934Officially known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu (yes, that’s the real name: “Luhur” means “something of divine origin” while “Uluwatu” can be broken into “ulu” which means “land’s end” and “watu” means “rock” in the old language). Nonetheless, merely mentioning Uluwatu will get you here in no time. Pura Luhur Uluwatu is a Balinese sea temple in Bali. Built in the 11th century, it is one of nine directional temples meant to protect Bali from evil spirits. It is located in Pecatu village, Kuta South District of Badung Regency of Bali. Though a small temple was claimed to have existed earlier, the structure was significantly expanded by a Javanese sage, Empu Kuturan in the 11th Century. Another sage from East Java, Dang Hyang Nirartha is credited for constructing the padmasana shrines and is claimed to have attained Moksha here. Even more remarkable than the temple itself is its location, perched on a steep cliff 70 metres above the roaring Indian ocean waves. There are more steep headlands on either side and sunsets over Uluwatu are a sight to behold.

You need to be properly dressed to enter. Sarongs and sashes are available free at the entrance. Guides, once famously mercenary, hassle visitors less than they used to, although they will offer to “protect” you from the monkeys, for a tip of course. Note that while you are free to walk around the temple grounds, the central courtyards can only be entered during special rituals.

The temple is inhabited by large numbers of monkeys, who are extremely adept at snatching visitors’ belonging, including bags, cameras and eyeglasses. Keep a very close grip on all your belongings and stow away your eyeglasses if at all possible. If you do have something taken, the monkeys can usually be induced to exchange it for some fruit. Needless to say, rewarding the monkeys like this only encourages them to steal more. Locals and even the temple priest or monkey ranger will be happy to do the job for you, for NO tip required.

MUNDUK WATERFALL

Munduk is a small mountain village, located between 500 to 1200 meters above sea level and with average temperatures of 20 to 25°C. With a population of 6,200 people, the village of Munduk has a rich history. Legend tells that it was settled by people from the mountains who were escaping an invasion of ants. Several clans then moved from Klungkung to resettle in Munduk Village 200 to 300 years ago. This was the portal through which the vizier of the Majapahit Kingdom in East Java penetrated to South Bali. History repeated itself when the Dutch expanded their colonial empire from Java to Bali. They too reached South Bali through the Village of Munduk, and subsequently used it as a mountainmunduk retreat from the administrative capital of Singaraja. The first guest house for Dutch officers was opened at Munduk in 1908. The Dutch brought colonial architecture to Munduk Village, along with traditional export commodities such as coffee, cocoa, cloves and vanilla. Scientists Van Der Tuuck, Lifering and Dr.Goris researched the culture of North Bali early in the last century and established Gedung Kertiya at Singaraja in 1928. This manuscript library, possibly the only one of its kind in the world, contains collections and copies of hand written texts on Balinese literature, myths, medicines, magic formulae and religious texts on palm leaf (‘lontar’). A unique combination of western and traditional Balinese musical instruments was played to the first president of Indonesia, Ir.Soekarno, in front of Governors Palace in Singaraja in 1952. The President considered this a colonial invasion of the local culture. But the expression of creativity can’t be stopped, and continues to manifest in the younger generation. Artists such as Made Trip and others continue these joint performances in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

MUNDUK WATERFALL This is not only a visit to a beautiful waterfall place in Bali, but also a short hiking deep into the rain tropical forest of Munduk Village. Very recommended for Bali visitors after 4 or 5 days with skin tanning beach days and Seminyak night life, you should definitely schedule a day trip to Singaraja area.

SEKUMPUL WATERFALL

sekumpul-jungle-trekking-bali

This is a large, spectacular double waterfall in a quiet and unspoilt forest. You will need to be reasonably fit and active to get there as the trek to the waterfall takes around an hour over ground which slopes quite steeply and can be slippery in wet weather. Nearby, there is Pura Dalem Jagaraga temple built on the site of a famous battle in 1849 with carvings made in the early 20th century to reflect the impact of Dutch colonialisation. Just a short drive from Villa Manuk to the East, through the villages of Sawan and Bebetin, is the beautiful Sekumpul Waterfall, which makes a wonderful trek. Take a picnic and eat lunch in the peaceful gorge where the only sounds are birdsong and the splash of the river as it traverses its stony path.

Sekumpul Waterfall is touted as the most beautiful waterfall in Bali. It is fairly close to Niagara Falls Lemukih, only about 2 km away. Understandably, the Village and Village Lemukih Sekumpul indeed neighbors. To see Sekumpul Waterfall close, it takes a bit of effort and struggle. From the parking lot, you have to walk quite far away, down a dirt road, down the hundreds of stairs, and across the river. When you ride a motorcycle, you can still ride from the parking lot (near the ticket window), to the end of the road paving. After paving the way out, the road turned into a narrow dirt road (footpath). Not long down the path, you arrived at a blank bale (gazebo) with Niagara Falls Sekumpul incredible lure. From the blank bale, seen Niagara Sekumpul very pretty in the distance. That makes this waterfall is different from most waterfalls, Niagara Sekumpul not just made up of one or two waterfalls. There are at least seven waterfalls are located separate and apart, you can see from the blank bale. Seven waterfalls scattered in the high cliffs and surrounded by green trees soothes the eye. Seventh waterfall has a shape and a different height. Absolutely amazing. Not one did, when Niagara Sekumpul crowned as the most beautiful waterfall in Bali.

In this Trekking tours you will passed through several local peoples houses and you will see so many fruit trees around the village. It turns out that people around this area do like to grow trees. That will impressed you. There are durian and rambutan trees everywhere. After walking around for five minutes, we were able to see several waterfalls from a distance. Beautiful! It probably seven waterfalls in total around this area.

You will cross a river and trek through the jungle a tiny bit, before we finally arrived at the base of the twin waterfall. you can swimming and playing around the base of the twin waterfall.
